Kimi Räikkönen is sporting a vintage James Hunt helmet design for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix, including the iconic JAMES HUNT text on its side.

As in the days of the 1976 World Champion, who suffered a fatal heart attack in 1993, the helmet contains his name in large writing and is chiefly black in design; this matches the colour scheme of the current Lotus chassis driven by the 2007 title winner.

In early 2007, the Finn famously entered a Ski-Doo race under the name ‘James Hunt’; dressed in a gorilla costume, Räikkönen was not recognised by those around him.
